You can spend all day customizing things -- don't forget to do your CS homework, too! :)

There were some bugs in the xfce desktop. They've probably been fixed by now, but if not, some of the following won't work.

Using the menu from the rodent icon, choose Settings-->Settings Manager. Here are a few things most users want to change:

• mouse focus: click on Window Manager and choose the Focus tab
• placement of dock: click on Panel
• number of desktops: click on Workspaces and Margins
• desktop background: click on Desktop and change the colors or pick an image (look in /usr/swat/pics for some examples)
