1. Introduction Section Structure
In most research posters and papers, the first section is usually 'Introduction', including

Purpose of study

Research Questions
Ahuja_2021 is an example for poster, and Bashivan_2016 is an example for paper.
2. Read Research Examples

Please read the poster examples from Week 03.

3. Finalize Your Research Topics

Your research topics should be selected from the FOUR papers you reviewed in lab 02,

For example, in Lotte_2018, you may select from the following sections: 3.2. Challenges faced by current EEG signal classification methods; 5.2. Open research questions and challenges.

4. Write Your Introduction Section
-
Both team members should agree on the same research topic and work on it throughout the semester.
-
Write one 'Introduction' section for your mid-term and another 'Introduction' section for your final project.

Each 'Introduction' section write-up should have the following four subsections:

Problem statement
-
Literature review (At least cite five other papers in your write-up for your final project.)

Purpose of study
-
Research Questions (Use this as a reference to formulate your research questions.)

Each team only proposes ONE research topic for both of your mid-term and final projects.
-
Your write-up should be less than one page for the mid-term poster.

For the final paper, your write-up should be three pages.

The format for these TWO 'Introduction' section write-ups should be 12 point font, Times New Roman, double spaced between all texts.

For the 'Title' and 'Abstract', you can create placeholders in both of your write-ups.
5. Notes

Each team only needs to submit one PDF file, with both names on it.

Email 'xqu1@swarthmore.edu' your Lab 3 write-up as lab_3_lastname1_lastname2.pdf.

The team members from the same team may get the same score.

Lab assignments will typically be released on Wednesday and will be due by midnight on the following Tuesday. This lab was released on 02/02 and will be due by midnight on 02/08.
