  2. Which approach (symbolic or subsymbolic) dominated the field early on? Which approach is dominating the field now? Why should we embrace AI's "anarchy of methods"?

  Answer the following questions for Friday's reading:

  1. Characterize each of the following task environments in terms of the envrionment properties listed across the top Figure 2.6 on page 47 of Russell and Norvig:
    • Playing soccer
    • Playing tic-tac-toe
  2. Which of these environment properties do you think is most difficult for AI to handle? Why?
