Note: the job description below is from Jake Chanenson '21 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Job Title: Student Researcher Job Type: Part-Time Pay: $20/hr Job Description: The student researcher conducts in-depth biographical research on an assigned public figure and then produces a list of all likely questions that the figure could be asked by members of the general public. These questions will then be used to create a robust interactive experience involving that figure. You will have to sign an NDA. About Us: We (1on1) are a startup that use cutting edge technology to create personal interactive experiences with notable public figures. Our current projects include several current and former NASA astronauts. About the Role: You will be given a public figure to research and use both primary and secondary sources to get a holistic understanding of said figure. With this body of knowledge, you will generate a long list of questions that will encompass both what you want to know about the figure and what a general member of the public may ask of the figure. Responsibilities include: * Self Directed Research: After being given a public figure to research, you must be able to collate and digest sources with minimal direction. * Timely Deliveries: Submitting work on time is key. We are both a technology and media company. The work you do may be needed for a production shoot with the public figure as soon as the next day. About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: * Some research experience in any discipline * An ability to synthesize large amounts of information * A record of excellent time management * Comfort with short-term deadlines * Flexible work hours, including an ability to work late nights when necessary * A background in social science or humanities * Curiosity!
