All, A Swarthmore alumn recently contacted us to advertise a summer internship / full-time position. Please see below! Cheers, Zach Hi, I'm an alum who works at a company in the Boston area called BBN and I am part of a group does grant-funded research in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning. I currently have multiple projects starting up that could support a summer intern and/or a full time hire. They involve: - Using NLP to extract information from the dark web to enable the detection of cyberattacks. E.g., if you knew where to look could you have foreseen and prevented the Equifax attack? - Building a tool to help people use a prediction market to try to forecast future events. - Extracting competing narratives from news stories in an attempt to determine what is real and what is fake. If any of the above sounds interesting to you, please contact me for more details (roger at bbn.com <mailto:roger at bbn.com>). Besides fun and challenging work, we've got various perks like a gym, a foosball table, free snacks, weekly board games, etc. Required: - Able to program in Java or Python, preferably both Bonus: - Familiarity with natural language processing and/or machine learning - Prior experience with Git and/or Maven - Understanding of linguistics Roger Bock '99 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
