Hello, all! Oscar Chen, who graduated from the CS department last year, reached out to let me know about a *virtual**information session* being given by the organization at which he now works. Career Services is organizing the event. We don't have a room number yet, but the event is to be held on *Tuesday, Feburary 28th* (two days from now!) at *4:30pm*. Please see below for more information about the work they're doing. Cheers, Zach ------------------------------------- Civis Analytics is a data science and technology startup that was born out of Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign to bring the same predictive analytics capabilities to other organizations. While much of our work remains in the realm of progressive politics, we also work with clients such as the UN Refugee Agency, Airbnb, and the United States Census, empowering them to make smarter decisions backed by robust data science infrastructure and methodologies. Civis is currently hiring software engineering interns for the upcoming summer and Swat alums *Oscar Chen ‘16* and *Bill Wanjohi ‘05* will be holding a *virtual information session on 2/28 at 4:30pm*. We’ll be talking through topics such as what it’s like to work at a startup, our culture and hiring processes, the types of projects and organizations Civis engages with, and some high-level overviews of the technologies that we’ve developed to make our work possible. Oscar studied computer science at Swarthmore and after graduating started at Civis in September as a software engineer working on Civis’ end-to-end data science platform. Bill graduated with a concentration in Electrical Engineering in 2005. He was a founding engineer at Civis Analytics and works to create secure, performant, and reliable computer systems. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
