The company for whom I work, MyWebGrocer, is hiring new employees. It is a company of 250 employees in Burlington, Vermont and focuses on a "complete Digital Experience Platform for grocers and Consumer Packaged Goods brands". In other words, we create APIs and web platforms for grocery retailers (e.g. Giant or Safeway) to sell groceries online for pickup or delivery. It's a highly complex system that you'd get to be involved in every part of. I'm a Software Engineer here that came in with no knowledge of C# or the .Net stack, no industry experience with databases, and little experience with the grocery industry. In just a few months, I feel like I am excelling and thoroughly enjoying the work I do here. The company is small enough to gain loads of truly full-stack experience, and the community here is family-friendly and close-knit, with many company sponsored teams (ski team! softball!) to keep you outside. I really love living in Vermont.. If you're into the outdoors, especially skiing and hiking, and like to drink the best craft beer in the world, then this is the place for you. Anyhow, here's a blurb from the company that I kind of understand: "MyWebGrocer offers the only complete Digital Experience Platform for grocers and Consumer Packaged Goods brands. The platform powers every interaction to engage, transact and retain grocery shoppers through digital offerings ranging from planning and shopping platforms to mobile and social tools. The company also offers opportunities for consumer packaged goods brands looking to reach consumers with relevant advertising, promotions and offers throughout their grocery path to purchase. Founded in 1999, MyWebGrocer manages digital solutions for more than 130 retailers across the globe, representing more than 10,000 stores, and 500+ major consumer packaged goods brands. To learn more about our great career opportunities at MWG and living in the beautiful State of Vermont, check out our website http://mywebgrocer.com/careers/." Here are some of the open positions: https://careers-mywebgrocer.icims.com/jobs/search?ss=1&searchCategory=17455 (Don't be worried by any of the stricter 'requirements' about .Net or SQL or anything else; in my experience they will hire you if you can learn, and they have liked that about Swatties..) Don't be afraid to reach out to me if you have any questions or want a referral. I'm happy to refer any Swattie, and I know MWG has been impressed with Swat students so far and will try to prioritize interviews.. :) Good luck!
