I am a Badger alum who is part of a fairly early-stage startup called Duolingo. We aim to make language education free for the world. Our website (duolingo.com) is currently the #1 way to learn a foreign language on the Web, and last month Apple and Google both awarded us their 2013 "iPhone App of the Year" and "Best of the Best" for Android, respectively. We face all kinds of cool, unique, and pretty weird CS problems in the course of teaching languages to 25 million people (and growing). From machine learning and natural language processing (to back our lessons) to systems, networking, and databases (to drive our core infrastructure). We're looking for a talented people to join our team in Pittsburgh and help us tackle these challenges. We're particularly looking for software engineers and UI/UX designers right now: http://www.duolingo.com/jobs If this sounds interesting, please apply online and/or send me your CV. Thanks! --Burr PS: Familiarity with a second language, the AWS stack, or work/internship experience at a large data-driven company (think Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) are all pluses. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
