We are seeking a junior LAMP/SQL software developer to work in our Boston area offices (Cambridge and Gloucester). As an engineer or our team, you will work with seasoned entrepreneurs in a funded venture, including one of the Founders of the Food Network. Responsibilities Provide ongoing development and integration tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and high-visibility environment. Develop a user experience centric, cross-device platform for food lovers. Analyze and maintain existing systems already in place. Identify areas to improve upon and develop new solutions accordingly. Specific duties include: Develop and maintain modules within a multi-tiered PHP/MySQL architecture Build applications and modules per user defined and documented requirements Test and thoroughly quality control all source code individually and through peer code reviews Adhere to strict internal controls for security, development and deployment processes Provide usability and interface guidance to the creative team during the design phase as needed to ensure an optimal web user experience Maintain existing CMS sites and ensure cross-browser compatibility Identify opportunities to employ cutting-edge technologies & programming techniques to improve overall software functionality Your Skills Include: 2 years experience Bachelorâs Degree in Computer Science preferred but not required. Relative work experience is acceptable Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL, AJAX, Java, and XML Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and efficiently create solutions. Cross-browser compatible output, adherence to web standards, and SEO best practices HTML5 & CSS3 knowledge, Facebook API integration, mobile site development are major pluses Eye for graphic design and user experience major plusses Excellent communication skills Salary: $XX,000 plus significant stock options.
