Hi all,

 

My name is Samantha Bartner and I graduated from Swarthmore in 2004 (with a
double major in Psychology & English Lit).  I am now working in NYC in the
HR Dept. of The Lime Group, LLC.  The Lime Group is a technology firm
operating businesses in finance and software. Companies under the Lime Group
umbrella include Tower Research Capital, a quantitative hedge fund manager;
Lime Brokerage, a direct access securities broker; Lime Wire, makers of the
world's fastest peer-to-peer file-sharing client; and The Open Planning
Project (TOPP), a non-profit focusing on increasing transparency in
government and enhancing citizen engagement with the decisions that affect
our lives. 

 

The Lime Group has a relaxed and casual workplace. We put a premium on
quality of life. We believe that working intelligently and efficiently
allows us time to enjoy all that life has to offer.  Since I have begun
working here (several months ago), I have come to think of this workplace as
a great fit for Swarthmore grads.  Our office is an open workplace that
involves everyone in what is happening in the business. The goal is for
everyone to be excited, happy, and challenged, and to have the opportunity
to live up to their potential. Our small size and open work environment
creates an esprit de corps rarely found in large organizations. This creates
a powerful learning environment where people freely consult with each other
and share their experience and knowledge. 

 

I have attached some job descriptions detailing current openings.  Please be
in touch if you know of any students ('06 or alumni) that you feel might be
a good fit for any of these positions.  I am also interested in setting up a
long-term relationship with the CS Dept. there, so that we may recruit CS &
Math majors from 2007 and beyond.
