Dear Professor Kelemen,

at Swarthmore College.  There are Analyst and Data Analyst opportunities
at Capital One Financial, Inc. that I want to make certain your student
alumni are aware of. Although those alumni who are seeking a full time

We have multiple positions open at our Richmond Virginia campus for
Analysts who are available to start immediately.  (There are also a
limited number of positions open in our McLean, Virginia office.)
Capital One will sponsor visas for successful candidates if they have
sufficient OPT time remaining on their student visas to allow them to
work in the US through October 2006.

Strategy (IBS) and technological tools to convert data into usable

Responsibilities: 


*	Leveraging data and conducting analyses 
*	Extracting and analyzing data from existing data stores 
*	Performing ad hoc queries
*	Consulting on the design and implementation of new production
and data storage systems
*	Developing and implementing new strategic tests
*	Developing and executing departmental data for monitoring
programs and tests

 

Qualifications:

*	Degree in quantitative discipline, including engineering,
business, mathematics, physical sciences or economics
*	Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and conceptual
skills
*	Familiarity with database design principles and data-flow
processing

*        Preferred:  Knowledge of querying (SQL and/or SAS) and OLAP
tools
