Thanks a million, Steve Bioinformatics Programming Position The Penn Center for Bioinformatics is seeking talented computer science graduates for a programming position in a bioinformatics research laboratory. Responsibilities: Working as a part of a research oriented software development team. Interacting with research biologists. Advanced object-oriented programming and software design. Data modeling (evolving a large biological relational database). Development of application frameworks, graphical user interfaces and visualizations, data transformation programs and analysis algorithms. Presenting work at internal seminars and potentially research conferences. Potentially authoring or co-authoring research papers in bioinformatics. Qualifications: Computer science degree. Masters degree and/or industry experience prefered. Ability to design and write advanced object-oriented software. Good communication skills.
