AmeriCorps VISTA Paid Internship Position with the I Do Foundation

Looking for a way to postpone real life after graduation? Need something
to do for a year while applying to grad school and/or waiting for your
significant other to finish his thesis? The I Do Foundation, a nonprofit
organization based in Philadelphia and DC, is looking for a candidate to
join our philly-area team for a 1-year AmeriCorps VISTA term (renewable
for up to three years).

The I Do Foundation is at the vanguard of a new generation of charities
that perform all of their work online. Our mission is to bring
charitable giving to the wedding industry; we provide progressive
couples with a way to redirect some of the outrageous spending that goes
on at their weddings to charitable organizations that they find
meaningful.

The ideal candidate should still, in fact, be an idealist, as AmeriCorps
doesn't pay very well. Perl and HTML skills are essential, PhotoShop and
unix systems skills are a plus but not necessary. The candidate's
skillset and areas of interest, balanced with the needs of the
organization, will determine the nature of the work. The position will
be based in the Philadelphia area, though the bulk of the work can be
telecommuting if that's desired.
