As Director of Admissions at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, I would like to let you know about an upcoming event that may be of interest to your students. The Humphrey Institute is participating in the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) Graduate School Forum on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 in Philadelphia, PA. Though this event features International Affairs programs, we would also like to invite students and alumni interested in domestic programs in public policy, urban and regional planning or science, technology and environmental policy to stop by and visit with us on that day. We would appreciate if you could share this information with your students and encourage them to attend to learn more about the Humphrey Institute. Students in departments and programs such as yours have been very successful in these programs. Details about the event are listed below. If you have any questions, or if you would like more information about the Humphrey Institute, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you, Julie ******************************* The University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute is participating in the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) Graduate School Forum on Tuesday October 5, 2004 in Philadelphia, PA. The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. at University of Pennsylvania Houston Hall, Hall of Flags, 3417 Spruce Street. Nina Mattson from the Humphrey Institute will be happy to share information with you and answer any questions you might have. Though this event features International Affairs programs, we would also like to invite students and alumni interested in domestic programs in public policy, urban and regional planning or science, technology and environmental policy to stop by and visit with us on that day. We offer a Master of Public Policy degree with a concentration in Foreign Policy and International Affairs. For people interested in international development, a dual concentration in Economic and Community Development has been popular. Additionally, we offer concentrations/specializations in domestic public policy areas, urban and regional planning and science, technology and environmental policy that may be of interest to you. We are one of few APSIA schools to host Hubert H. Humphrey International Fellows (high level, mid-career professionals from countries around the world) within our public affairs program, and among select schools in the country that have a MacArthur Interdisciplinary Program on Global Change, Sustainability and Justice. This fellowship program is an inter-disciplinary academic program that brings together scholars from across the university for courses, seminars, and internships that complement their academic programs. I hope you are able to attend this APSIA forum. If you are unable to make it, we will be happy to send you additional information about our programs and answer any questions you might have. You can also find the information on our website at: www.hhh.umn.edu. If you're not in the Philadelphia area, please consult our recruitment calendar (http://www.hhh.umn.edu/admissions/requestinfo.htm#calendar) to see when we'll be in your area. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information.
